MCM

Ben and I took Jack to the Minnesota Children's Museum yesterday. Andy and Elise gave him tickets for his 1st birthday and we finally got the chance to use them. It was so much fun for all of us! I brought my camera, but the flash no longer works. I got a bunch of pictures, but most of them are blurry. Here are some:

Coloring Buddy

One of Jack's favorite things to do these past few weeks is color.
He can stand there quietly and color for over an hour.

I think he thinks Grandma is a great coloring buddy!

Quilt

This is my last week of break - school starts next Tuesday. All fall semester Jack's nap time has meant 3 hours of homework time for me. This week I decided to do some sewing during Jack's nap time and started a quilt! I have always wanted to make one, so I'm finally doing it.

So far I have:

  • cut out 112 - 12x3 inch strips of fabric and arranged them in the chevron pattern I want

  • sewn one of seven panels

All the fabric I used is scraps and stuff I already had. I really like the "moustache" print :)

Stay tuned for the finished product!

Christmas 2012 (A Little Late)

Our first Christmas celebration was two weekends before Christmas day with the Carlson family. We went up to Virginia for the full weekend. We had a great time! It was a full house with Paul, Karyn, all of the siblings, spouses, and the toddlers/ babies. Just like we had talked about, it was so much fun with Amelia Anna and Jack all running around and playing together. I wish I would have taken some pictures while we were up there, but we only used the video camera.

The weekend consisted of:
toddlers running
family singing
Santa visiting
board game playing
story telling
mid-day naping
gift opening
LOTS of eating

It was great!

The Saturday before Christmas we celebrated with the Nystrom family at Grandma Lois and Sam's house. Before dinner we visited, played some dice and card games and took some family photos.

Then we ate the traditional Christmas meal! It was yummy as always.

Later... SURPRISE... Santa!!

Cute boys :) (Wyatt 11 mos.)

Christmas morning we opened presents and then the Graham family (Grandma, Grandpa, Karen and Angie) came over for appetizer-ish snacks and more present opening! Grandma Lois & Sam joined us for dinner.

The Menu:
Roasted Beet & Pear Salad
Baked Potatoes
Beef Tenderloin
Gorgonzola Cheese Cream Sauce
Great Grandma Helen's Carrot Casserole
Garlic Bread

DELICIOUS.

So excited about his guitar!

What a great end to 2012!

I'm excited to see what 2013 will bring!
